Attorneys

Ms. Nelson graduated cum laude from the University of California, at Berkeley, with a Bachelor of Arts in English, and obtained her law degree at the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, in Sacramento, California, where she received honors for her oral and written advocacy skills.

Ms. Nelson is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of California, the Sacramento County Bar Association and its Family Law Section.

Ms. Nelson was born in Chicago, Illinois, and was raised in San Jose, California.  She spent seventeen years in the restaurant industry prior to becoming an attorney.  This experience instilled in her a commitment to customer service and an enjoyment of people which she has carried forward into her practice.

Ms. Nelson strongly encourages clients to mediate their cases rather than litigate.  However, when litigation is needed, Ms. Nelson aggressively pursues the appropriate actions needed to ensure children are protected and clients' rights are preserved.
