Bidens request that contested divorce be settled amicably

When public figures undergo marital transitions in their private lives, the public almost seems to expect that the parties will be openly hostile towards one another. While that may be true in many cases, there are times when a previously contested divorce can be resolved more peaceably than anticipated. California couples are entitled to seek the best advice when they are in the midst of their own contentious dissolution.

Recently, former Vice President Joe Biden's son, Hunter Biden, and his spouse, Kathleen Buhle Biden, asked for their petition involving a contested divorce be replaced in favor of a more amicable settlement. This move came approximately 14 days after the soon-to-be former Mrs. Biden requested that Mr. Biden be prevented from spending jointly held assets in a purportedly frivolous manner.

Mrs. Biden first filed for divorce late last year. She alleges that Mr. Biden has spent so much of the jointly held assets that it is difficult to pay the regular household expenses. She has further alleged that he has spent their resources on illegal substances and gifts for other women.

Mrs. Biden has requested to be granted sole custody of the couple's only minor child. Attorneys for both sides stated that the couple has decided to attempt to settle their previously contested divorce as peaceably as possible. It has been reported that Hunter Biden is romantically involved with his former sister-in-law. California couples who are facing a possibly protracted battle during their own divorce can consult a family law attorney who may be able to help resolve problems in an as efficient and equitable manner as possible.
