Settlement reached in Depp divorce

Amid allegations of domestic violence and a very public break up comes reports that a settlement has finally been reached on the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard divorce case. For an actor that grossed $100 million in 2010, the sum of $7 million may leave interested parties questioning why Amber Heard may have shortchanged herself.

However, we are reminded that after accountants, managers and such are paid out by Depp from this amount and taxes and spending are deducted, it could be feasible that out of a $100 million annual earning Depp would have retained a mere 15 percent of that, which, when split down the middle would roughly equate to $7 million.

The settlement offer came on the evening before the hearing for the restraining order on Johnny Depp. It was said that this was not a coincidence and that the settlement may have at least partly been laid out in an effort to shield Depp from additional harm that may come from misinterpretation during his deposition.

Other factors that may have elicited a settlement were the leaking of a video that could potentially portray Depp in a bad light as well as an overwhelming fatigue that comes with a contentiously heated 3-month court battle.

Whether you are part of a high-profile couple or not, if you are considering a divorce or believe your spouse is, it may benefit you immeasurably to promptly solicit the assistance of a California divorce attorney who may be able to assist with complex property division and expedite what may be a very difficult and exhausting time for you.
